Boaz Miller, PhD

I am an academic philosopher in the fields of social epistemology, philosophy of science and technology, and science and technology studies.

I’m an Associate Professor and Chair of of the Department of Information Systems at Zefat Academic College, an Associate Editor of Social Epistemology, and a Senior Research Associate at ACEPS, University of Johannesburg.

I study knowledge and information on the Internet, expertise, collective knowledge, scientific consensus, the relations between evidence and values, and scientific models and truth.

My PhD is from the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST), University of Toronto, and I have a BSc in computer science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Before I became an academic scholar, I was a software engineer.

My book The Social Dimensions of Scientific Knowledge: Consensus, Controversy and Coproduction is out at Cambridge University Press (2024).
